FACILITIES FINANCIAL SERVICES
Our Purpose

Facilities Financial Services (FFS) provides financial management – accounting and analysis – for FMS with the goal of delivering timely and insightful financial information to FMS managers as well as administrative, business and academic units of the university.  FFS works closely with both internal and external customers to maximize the utility of the information provided and respond to any questions. Headed by a Director of Financial Services, FFS has a total of 12 full-time and several student employees. The staff is ethnically diverse and well-educated. Employees take great pride in “Getting the job done, doing it right, and keeping the customer happy.

Our Responsibilities
  1. General Accounting – Includes payroll processing for all of FMS employees through KRONOS, month-end closing, accounts payable and receivable, and vendor relations pertaining to the ongoing operations and maintenance of the USC campuses and facilities;

    FFS develops policies and procedures related to the procurement of supplies (consistent with USC purchasing policies and limitations), pays invoices, tracks expenses incurred by FMS Shops, and is responsible for invoicing and collecting payment from customers;
     
  2. Financial Analysis – includes FMS budgeting and budget projections, utilities and annual Cost By Building reports (CBBs).  The majority of this information is prepared by FFS to enhance contributions by FMS in University planning and facility development; and
     
  3. Management Information Systems (MIS) – maintaining our Computerized Maintenance Management System (FAMIS) and Building Information Systems (BIM).
Billing and Statements

Billing statements are issued by our Facilities Financial Services Department near the end of each month.
