The UPC and HSC campuses are subdivided into five zones (areas), which are maintained by their assigned Zone Maintenance team. The concept behind this geographical subdivision is that one of the five Zone teams can fully focus on their university area with special care to its specific maintenance needs, customers, and access requirements.
Our Zone Maintenance personnel handle all routine maintenance work in our university common areas. Working on a ‘find it, fix it’ basis, FMS’ Zone Maintenance staff regularly inspect buildings, identify needed repairs, and take proactive measures that keep our facilities operating at optimum levels. From responding to emergency needs, like floods, to playing a key role in the lead up to major USC events, like commencement, to the upkeep of the more than 40 fountains sprinkled throughout our campuses, FMS’ Zone Maintenance crews stay quite busy.
